Well, to start with, I think I will tell you what I do. I am a lawyer here in Shanghai and I've been working as an attorney for about 3 years. My work is interesting, but it involves very complicated issues and often there are various strategies that are necessary for success.
I enjoy meeting people and forming new relationships with people. I enjoy hearing people's stories and I like trying my best to help them. I also enjoy getting out with my friends and enjoying the entertainment places. I am a big fan of jazz and there are a few places that I go to enjoy it. I can also play the saxophone, and even play in a band at a bar from time to time, but I don't have time to do it regularly.
What I don't like doing? Hmm..1et me think, well I suppose I just don't like having to go through a lot of very tedious details at work, and, quite frankly, I don't like clients who lie to me about their situation. There are some things about the job which I don't like, and I'm not proud about everything that I do, but overall I really like it.
I think my good points are that I'm quite good at communicating. I mean, you have to be as a lawyer. I do know a lot about the law, especially commercial law, which is my specialty. I have a good memory for legal issues and law, and I can use them quite well to argue a point. My bad points are that I am the worst person for remembering directions. I get loot everywhere when I'm travelling. If you ask my wife she'll tell you that there's nobody as bad as me for getting lost in places.
As for how you can be my friend, I think the key thing is that you just need to have a good sense of humour and you just need to be honest in your actions. Actually, I am quite willing to be anyone's friend, but I hate people who make a big show of it. I don't need any special favours or gifts to be my friends. If people just act like themselves…well, that's good enough for me.
Describe an activity you do to keep fitYou should say:
What the activity is
When and where you usually do it
How you do it
and explain why it can keep you fit.
Describe something that you want to learn more.
how: 如何学会的?swimming club / health clubswimming videosshallow end 浅水区 deep end 深水区
如何有益于你的身体健康? a great exciselow impact 伤害较低,影响较低it works every musclethe water is relaxing and stress-relieving 解压,放松 参考词汇:drown: 溺水,淹没overcome: 克服the fear of …: 对…的恐惧 the fear of waterstart off: 开始available: 可利用的,有空的conquer: 克服,战胜knees: 膝盖 注意k不发音ankles: 脚踝 I was almost drowned when I was little so I do not enjoy being in the water. I wanted to overcome my fear of water. And it was definitely a challenge for me. I learned it in a health club and practiced from watching some swimming videos. I started off in the shallow end, where I could touch my feet to the bottom. When I felt more comfortable, I went to the deep end. Now I am not that good at it but I conquered my fear of water and I go swimming at least once a week. It becomes a part of my schedule. Swimming is a great exercise and it is low impact if I can overcome the fear of water. I feel it’s refreshing, it doesn't stress my knees or ankles as much as other sports, and it works every muscle in my body. It's an intense workout, but at the same time the water is relaxing and stress-relieving.
Do you think parents should supervise what films children watch?
Due to lack of movie & Internet censorship, apparently, now kids are more likely to be exposed to a lot of information not child-friendly at all, especially stuff related to violence, crime & pornography. Meanwhile, without mature judgment, it’s usually hard for children & teenagers to tell right from wrong, which may literally lead to the imitation of certain bad behaviors that they’ve witnessed on screen. You know, it’s not rare to see a young kid swearing or cursing others, even get engaged in physical violence. So, I do believe that, if parents could provide proper supervision about the movies their kids watch, they would effectively nip the negative possibility in the bud.
Do you think famous actors can make the movie successful?
成功的电影由很多因素构成 → 剧情(plot)、导演(director)、制作团队(whole team of production)等等 → 演员只是其中一环(part of the chain) → 再说很多名演员只是外貌出众(a looker),演技不一定好(performance) → 相比之下 → 强大的团队+好的剧情(plot)更为关键
Well it depends on the definition of successful movies. If you mean box-office, I would say yes. Coz’ basically those famous actors have got sincere backup from their huge group of fans, which means, no matter how bad the film is, those loyal fans would still like to pay for the tickets to support their beloved stars, their idols in the cinema. That’s actually the crucial factor contributing to the emergence & boom of those fan-target films. Forgetting about the plot & performance, those ones are usually more likely to receive a real success in the market, just like Twilight from Hollywood or Tiny Time in China.
Would you say that cinemas will disappear in the future?
1. 常见的预测未来题 → 注意will的替换 → be gonna, be likely to do, be expected to, tend to …
Well, not likely, I suppose, for currently, the number of cinema-goers are increasing faster, just like this year, we’ve witnessed many blockbusters, like Fast Furious 7 or Jurassic Park, which has smashed the box-office, earning a real big fortune. Thus, I guess, the disappearance of cinemas will never happen, at lease in the coming decade. Because, on one hand, cinemas are really indispensable in our life, especially to those film-lovers, for there are simply more cutting-edge facilities in it, like Imax screens or hi-fi systems, which could provide us with much better & more touching enjoyment. And usually it’s really hard to enjoy this at home. That’s why on weekends, tons of people rush into the movie theatre to enjoy the latest films, releasing their pressure from fast pace of life. Another thing is that there are more people informed about the concept of copyright in recent years & gradually those free-download films can be regarded as illegal ones. With stronger legal consciousness, I believe there will be more audience deciding to pay royalties to those artists & filmmakers by watching films in the cinema. That’s why I don’t think it’s gonna disappear from our life.
Q1: Are you good at organizing time?
A1: Not really. I live a quite casual and laidback life. (细节) I mean, I like to follow my heart. For example, when I decide to watch a movie, I would do that immediately. Or even when I want to go traveling, I just do that without a detailed plan and I just set off in a week.
A2: I am good at organizing time and I consider it as a very important part in life. (why) I think our time is so limited and I’ve got loads of things to do always. I don’t want my life to be in a mess. (how) I like to have a to-do list and arrange my schedule. Then I do everything more efficiently.
I mean, by that I mean…
2)live a casual and laidback life 过着随性而放松的生活 。
3)follow my heart
4)immediately 立即
5)detailed 详细的
6)time is limited
I’ve got

10)arrange my schedule
11)efficient 高效的
Q2: Do you think planning is important for time management?
A1: Yes, actually I think planning is the most important part of time management.(why) Time management means that you allocate the time to different things, especially the important things or the tough things. So it is just what we do in planning! For example, if I have a really difficult and big task to do and it requires a lot of time and energy, I would think about when to do that and set deadlines.
1)allocate … to… 分配…给… allocate a lot of money to my clothes, allocate enough time to my homework
2)tough
3)require 需要…
4)set deadline
1)…means that… I believe that…
2)It is just what we do in …
…is just what I care about. …
Q3: Why do you think some people pay to learn time management?
A1: Well, I guess it’s just because time management is really essential for some peoplewho work under huge pressure. (why) They generally have very tight schedule and they also need to look after the family. The courses may give them very professional trainingand help them manage everything better.
你的第一反应可能是,well, really? well, I guess … The paid courses can really benefit them.
