2雅思口语环境法规话题
Describe an environment law.
You should say:
what it is
how you first learned about it
who benefits from it
and explain how you feel about this law.
These days the environment really is a hot topic, especially in China. Big cities, such as Beijing, are notorious for having a lot of pollution. Sometimes, in winter, the smog is so bad that you can’t see the end of the street!
Because of this, the government has been trying to reduce the levels of pollution with certain environmental policies and laws. They have said they are declaring war on pollution, by putting bosses in jail if their companies do not reduce harmful emis-sions and removing a limit on the amount of money companies can be fined for causing too much pollution.
I’m not that familiar with the topic, but I remember first reading about the new laws in the newspaper and on the internet. As I said, the environment is a big deal nowa-days, so this sort of thing is front page news.
In the long run, everybody benefits from this kind of law. On the one hand, compa-nies may lose money by closing their factories or reducing production, but on the other hand they are helping to make the world a cleaner and healthier place to live. Not only ourselves, but also future generations will benefit from having less pollution.
I don’t think anyone could argue against these laws. Some people may think that they do not go far enough or that they will not be enforced, but I feel they are better than nothing. Everyone should do their bit to reduce emissions and keep our skies blue.
3雅思口语当地的变化话题
Describe a change that will improve your local area.
文章插图
You should say:
what the change is
why the change is needed
whether there will be any problems associated with change
and explain how it will improve your local area.
Just one look out of my window will tell you that my local area is crying out for more car parking spaces. Anyone with half a brain can see that the current situation is untenable in the long run.
As it stands, people are left with no choice but to park in the street, regardless of whether there are yellow lines or signs prohibiting it. I’ve even seen cars parked on the pavement or parked sideways to fit into very small spaces on the side of the road. In some instances cars are double parked, meaning that the person inside is blocked in and prevented from leaving!
I realize the change won’t come easily. As much as I would like to see it happen, there is no space to put a new car park in the area. You can’t just go knocking down buildings willy-nilly and at any rate the local authorities take an age to make any decisions or changes. Any new parking area would have to be located a few blocks away and this would cause uproar with drivers who are too lazy to walk an extra 5 or 10 minutes.
If they can ever get their act together and come up with a plan, I think it would be of huge benefit to the local area. The streets would not be cluttered up with vehicles, it would reduce congestion and people would be able to use the pavements again, rather than walking on the roads and being in danger of getting run over.
4雅思口语佩服的朋友话题
A friend you admire
I want to talk about one of my playmates in my childhood. Her name is Su. She’s very beautiful. She had long black hair and big eyes. She looked like a Barbie doll.
However her personality was very different from her appearance. I like her because of her strong personality and her kindness to others. She never cried even when she hurt her knees badly and would always help and comfort others just like a big sister.
I always knew she’s a strong girl, but later I realized that she’s stronger than I thought. When we were in primary school, one day, my teacher asked her out and told her that her father died in a car accident. She came back to our classroom to get her school bag without crying. When I went to her home to ensure she was ok, I saw her comforting her mother. She was like an adult, still without crying.
Later she went to Canada and we haven’t seen each other for about five years. I can still her beautiful appearance and her strong personality. When I feel discouraged, I will always remember her and I can become strong because of her influence.
